Kitchen Funnies - May I Have Some Coffee?

"Hey Sharon, mind if I grab a cup of coffee?"

"You bet! Let me grab this laundry and I'll be right there."

"No rush. I'll make you a..."

"WAIT! Do NOT use my favorite cup!"

*Wait, what!?*

Think kitchen designers have never had to design around a collection? Think again. This post would be longer but I have to run to the dish store.

World Water Day 2012

I'm not a flag-waver for many causes, but World Water Day strikes close to the kitchen and bath(and laundry and outdoor living and so on) industry.

This year, after being struck up by the United Nations in 1992, World Water Day focuses on Water and Food Security. While we are fortunate to live in a country with a solid infrastructure, developing nations are not so lucky. In addition to water shortages, food shortages and food waste have become global issues.

Every one can help, even in small ways. Each day I am thankful for friends who are studying ways to reuse and recycle water, grow conservation agriculture and think outside the box for ways to improve not just our lives but those around the world.

Check out the World Water Day website for more information and on ways that you can help.

Last week we had "Fix a Leak" week and every home I was in was checked out. Now, I'm 100% on board with limited food waste and eating local and in season veggies. It's the little things that can make the difference!

It's Fix a Leak Week!

This is the annual Fix a Leak week sponsored by WaterSense(an EPA partnership) where homeowners are encouraged  to do some minor household repairs to take care of any wasted water.

Everything WaterSense shares is good stuff, but rarely do people understand the magnitude of a leak(even a small one).

This is one of the best illustrations on what an even tiny leak can add up to!

Take a few minutes to look over the WaterSense website. Turn the television off and walk around your place, listening for any leaks. Check faucets, tub/shower, toilets and the often forgotten outside spigots. If the repair is outside your repairing ability, call a professional. 3000(or more) wasted gallons over the course of a year can't be good for your water bill and certainly isn't good for the environment!

Almost #WordlessWednesday - Green Kitchen

Just in time for St. Patrick's Day this weekend... GREEN!

Very nice space, thanks to Amy Good for pointing it out to me.

What do you think? Bold enough to go with a color in the kitchen?

All About Coupons!

Last week we saw the life of a paper coupon... As a couponer myself, it's neat to see the types of people that use them.

There's definitely an element of value that must be watched, but I love getting a good deal!

The Life of a Paper Grocery Coupon

I love coupons... I'm not nearly as bad as those crazy folks on television, but I'll admit to a small stockpile and lots of bodywash.

Since I live in a little bubble, I never realized how big of a business grocery coupons are. Check out this info!
