Happy Turkey... err Durkey Day! :: Hot Durkey Thanksgiving

Because not everyone can prepare a delicious Thanksgiving turkey, Oscar Meyer was awesome enough to share a recipe for a glorious Hot Durkey.

It's almost too much.

The truly amazing part about this Hot Durkey? I want one. Maybe for every football weekend. Maybe for the national championship? Super Bowl? It's another reason to throw a hot dog on the grill.

What would you call a Brat version? Hot Durkeywurst?

Hope your Thanksgiving is awesome. Like Hot Durkey awesome!

Friday Find - Wall Scrabble

The holiday season is just around the corner and if your kid, parent or significant other has the same kind of 'Words With Friends' addiction, it's time to take your Scrabble game to the next level.

May not look like much just to see it on a blank wall, but this board based on the original version of Scrabble is almost seven feet wide and just shy of five feet tall. Not exactly the folded up board that got plenty of use around our house as a kid.

Would definitely be on a gift guide for someone who has it all. This has game room written all over it. Easily had from Restoration Hardware at a cool $1495.

Buster + Punch Light Switches

File this under "Why can't we have nice things in America?"

These switches from Buster + Punch are absolutely awesome.

Available all over Europe(of course), these switches come in some great color combinations and offer both traditional on/off mechanisms as well as dimming switches.

Check out the combinations below and on their site here.

These diamond-cut knurled beauties will make the even the most traditional type want to have an entirely industrial space. Even worse than not being able to get them in the states(or at least set up for our electrical systems), is that they only run about $50US.

*deep, sad sigh*

Social Media Sizing Cheat Sheet

Anytime I can find a cheat sheet for just about anything online, I'm all in. It's already hard to update everything and keep up with everyone else... I don't have time to manipulate a background for twitter 58 times.

Here's a handy little cheat sheet for sizing your social media photos and such. Who would've though getting that profile picture the right size would make such a difference!?

Facebook, Pinterest, Google+ and Twitter... It's all here!

Also, you're welcome.

KBIS Primer - ROHL Water Appliance

The Kitchen and Bath Industry show is just around the corner and there are more and more goodies that I am looking forward to checking out for myself.

The ROHL Water Appliance solution(as they're pitching it) seems like a hokey way to pitch a new line of sink products until you really look at what they're trying to accomplish.

It's no secret that the ROHL line of sinks is impressive. Always sleek designs and easy installations make a ROHL easy to recommend. Upping the line though, ROHL is rolling out a set of coordinates like integrated disposer buttons, hot-water dispensers and water filtration systems to make the sink a little bit more than just a sink and a faucet.

Now, integrating buttons and filtration is something that we've(the design world) been asking for and wishing for for a while. Since it appears that it's here, I'll make sure to give it a good once over.

What do you think? Automation at the sink?

Pantone 2014 Color of the Year :: Radiant Orchid

We welcome 2014 with the return of the forecasted color of the year from Pantone... This years jewel tone is radiant orchid. I've had some of my design friends refer to it more lovingly as "kind of lavender".

Whether you're wishing for more 2010(like I may or not be), get ready for tons of accessories, throw pillows, Christmas ornaments and other gadgetry in this interesting shade!

KBIS Primer - Viking TurboChef Double Oven

With KBIS just a couple of weeks away, it's time to finish up my appointment making and get my dance card filled up. With the combining of the International Builder's Show(IBS) and the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show(KBIS) in Las Vegas this year, many of the old brands that were mainstays at industry shows have picked back up and decided to join the party.

I'm definitely looking forward to seeing Viking Range at KBIS.

Since the Viking restructure, new products have reappeared in the Viking catalog and it's not a moment too soon. The once mainstay had slipped the appliance ranks and with some new leadership, they're poised to make a run back to the top. The new Professional TurboChef Double Oven is just the beginning.

This is on my list of KBIS must-sees.

According to Viking, this oven cooks FIFTEEN TIMES FASTER than a traditional oven. 15! I don't even know how to put that in to real life numbers.

It's about time that the big boys in appliances come back and showcase what's new... It's super impressive when they show up and have something awesome to share. Viking is winning.

I'll let you know how it looks... Think it will be bad if I show up with a meal ready to cook at the booth?

Every guy should know the proper way to wear a scarf. There is a right way. Believe it or not, it's kind of like tying a tie. Do it wrong and everyone looks at your oddly positioned neckwear.

At some point in every man's life, there's been a smartly wrapped gift box containing a scarf that seemed too long. Now you know what to do with it. It's cold anyway... wrap up.

11 Simple Ways to Tie a Scarf

I'm a Parisian Knot kind of guy, but every look here is pretty good. Try them out and see what fits you best!
