Faucet Love - Webert Arcobaleno

I love innovation. I also love when innovation allows for multiple users a different experience.

With the recent push for universal design and helping homeowners age gracefully in their homes, innovation has come in many shapes and in the case of the Webert Arcobaleno, colors.

The Arcobaleno is an LED faucet that shows(literally) users the temperature of the water they're about to use. For older and younger users(and me), it's a reminder of the water temperature so that one isn't accidentally burned or given a chill.

Take a look:

Obviously, blue is for cold and red is for hot. What makes the Arcobaleno unique is the ability of the LED to change with the temperature... What happens when you mix hot and cold? Purple!

The joystick adds a bit of whimsy to the otherwise modern faucet. Do you think you would use one in your house?

Sunday Inspiration - They Call Me Mellow Yellow

Modern kitchens have always appealed to me(even though it's not my personal style). I really like how the elements can be simple and complicated at the same time with lots of moving parts and hidden storage spaces.

This kitchen is from the Italian design firm Snaidero. Interestingly, the designer who perfected the Venus line(shown) is Paolo Pininfarina. Car nuts may recognize that name... his father, Sergio, is the head of the design firm that is known worldwide for their designs of Maserati and Ferrari automobiles.

Pretty wild, huh? Gotta say, I love the stainless steel!

I've Been Moved by an Island!

"Wow."

That was my initial reaction after seeing the VERVE sliding counter from Minimal | USA.

HOT! Who cares if I sound like Paris Hilton... Did you see that!?

The sliding portion of the counter is an acacia veneer block just over 4.5" thick. When slid out, the counter reveals a sunken Corian section and a retractable stainless steel faucet and sink.

The design is nothing short of awesome. Even though I am not a huge fan of the ultra-modern and super minimalist setting, the principal of this island is spectacular. 

If you haven't been to the Minimal site and looked around, do it now. The inspiration there is immeasurable.
