We used to do sugaring years ago but the amount of work got to be too much. Vermont, of course, produces a lot of maple syrup and it was fun when the kids were young.
10 whole gallons only produces on quart? Honestly thats amazing we get any at all!
I'm not even a huge maple syrup fan, but I thought that was rather interesting. You may have changed my position on the sweet sticky goodness.
Oh the real stuff is so good and pricey but worth it. I love it in hot cereal. Hmmm, maybe we need pancakes for dinner...I remember making it as a kid and I once grew this sugar crystal so large it filled the entire (re-purposed)mayonnaise jar. Thanks for reminding me of the work which goes into it.
