We used to do sugaring years ago but the amount of work got to be too much. Vermont, of course, produces a lot of maple syrup and it was fun when the kids were young.
Oh the real stuff is so good and pricey but worth it. I love it in hot cereal. Hmmm, maybe we need pancakes for dinner...
I remember making it as a kid and I once grew this sugar crystal so large it filled the entire (re-purposed)mayonnaise jar. Thanks for reminding me of the work which goes into it.

ReplyDeleteI'm not even a huge maple syrup fan, but I thought that was rather interesting. You may have changed my position on the sweet sticky goodness.
