Sunday Inspiration - Cape Cottage

Sometimes I see spaces that need nothing else but for me to just move in and be able to absorb the sights, smells and sounds that surround me.

Here we are in Nova Scotia at the home of Eliot and Alexandra Angle. Their home was recently featured in the New York Times and there was zero chance that I wasn't going to reshare and love all over it.

Take a look:

For starters, how could you not enjoy that view? I love being near the water, and having it on more than one side would make me exceptionally happy.

Great colors for the kitchen. My over-sized American personality makes me wonder if I could live without the large appliances I've become accustomed to, but the aesthetic of this space is just nearly perfect.

The windows make me wonder if I would get anything done... it's one of the most idyllic settings I've seen.

So it's my Sunday happy place... Could you live here?

  1. I know why you like this place but it makes me crazy! There's not a thing I like about that kitchen! But I'll totally come visit and love every second of it.

    Still friends?! ; )

  5. The Serenity of this place! It seems like life would be the perfect Spring day all year round. I love the quilts on the beds, I would have never put those two different patterns in the same room, yet they are so beautiful and peaceful..a perfect escape!

  7. Debi- Can't agree more!

Anon- Well, fortunately I've never seen the inside of an insane asylum so I can't speak to that... Good thing is, we all have unique taste and there's a perfect space for us all. I'm thankful to know what I like and I'm sure the spaces you appreciate have just as much merit as this one!

  9. Fabulous and gorgeous house. The panelled wall is the perfect architectural element to really make the white on white stand out.

  11. I thought it was a nicely understated, subdued take on modern and cottage concept. I didn't like the white and green chair in the dining room but if you can handle having nova scotioners for neighbors(if there are any neighbors) it would be great !
